SEPTEMBER

9th September Newton & Field Broughton WI invite you to their open meeting on Wednesday 9th September 2026 at Lindale Village Hall. 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm start. We are pleased to host Dr Nick Gent who will lead us on an interesting evening talking about “Navigating Critical Health Challenges in the Cayman Islands”. Entrance for non-members is £3 and will include refreshments. We look forward to seeing you there.

16th September Crosthwaite & Lyth WI invite you to their Open Meeting at 7.30 p.m. on 16th September in Crosthwaite Memorial Hall LA8 8HT to listen to aerial archaeologist and cultural heritage guru Bob Bewley regale us with tales of his life's work.' From The Solway to Saudia Arabia: An Aerial Archaeological Journey' Entry is £4 for non members, to include refreshments.

OCTOBER

10th October Natland and Oxenholme WI invite you to a coffee morning on Saturday 10th October 10am-12noon at Natland Village Hall. £2 entrance fee includes coffee/tea with a biscuit. Children under 12 free. There will be a raffle, a cake stall, a book stall and ‘A Magic Cauldron Lucky Dip’.

14th October The Yealands WI ,based at the Village Hall in Yealand Redmayne , invite you to our Open Afternoon meeting on Wednesday 14th October at 2pm. Our speaker is Dorthe Pratt , the founder of The Sedbergh Soap Company and she will be sharing her insight and experience in setting up her business as well as bringing along some of her products to purchase in a pop-up shop ( maybe a chance to buy some early Christmas presents ). £4 for Visitors which includes tea, coffee and delicious cakes - everyone is very welcome to join us .

21st October Tebay and Orton WI would like to invite you to their WI meeting on Wednesday 21st October, 1pm at Tebay Methodist Chapel Hall when we will be joined by Joan Bentley who will be demonstrating 'Stunningly Simple Inspirations' flower arrangements. Entry is £4. There is a chance you could win one of Joan's wonderful creations in the raffle!

24th October Tebay and Orton WI would like to invite you and your family, to a Domino Drive on Saturday 24th October, 7:30pm at Tebay Social Club, Church Street, Tebay.Entry is £2 for adults, £1 for children and includes refreshments. We will be having a raffle too. Everyone welcome, we look forward to seeing you there.

29th October Lyth Valley Group Meeting - 29th October 2 p.m. Crosthwaite Memorial Hall Find out all about a Tudor Lady's Attire - from the bottom up - literally! Be entertained as you hear from 2 ladies who make and model an entire outfit worn by a Tudor lady, from her undergarments to her outerwear. Cost is £5 per person to include refreshments. Raffle and competition (details in next month's WI News).

21st November Barrow WI Barrow W I Coffee morning at Dalton Community Church, Market Street, Dalton. 21st of November from 9-30 to 11.30. To raise funds for our charity. £1 entry.

Writers Inc: Friendly creative writing session led by Jackie Huck on the first Thursday of the month from 12noon - 2 pm. If interested, drop the WI Office an email, and we'll put you in touch with Jackie. Newcomers welcome.

NEW: Crochet Club: 10 am - 12noon. Last Thursday of each month at the WI Office. £3.50 per person. Come and join this new monthly group - all welcome!
