The Wainwrights in Winter

Presented by Nicky Oliver (Grasmere WI) & Floki & David Johnson in conversation with Sally Smith (Grasmere WI)

Wednesday 7th October, 12 noon, Selside Memorial Hall, LA8 9LETickets £10 inc lunch & coffees

The Wainwrights are surely the most famous and exciting peaks to walk, climb and scramble in England – a challenge on a warm spring day but imagine tackling all 214 peaks in one single winter, regardless of the weather (which actually turned out to be the snowiest winter on the fells for years!).

You can enjoy the glorious snowy slides and fun chat about their adventures with Nicky Oliver from Grasmere WI and David Johnson, chaired by Sally Smith (also from Grasmere WI) all in the snug warmth of Selside Village Hall.  David is a W.I.S.H. – WI Support Husband of Grasmere WI President Louise Sykes.

Book now for this great afternoon on Wednesday 7th October with a 12noon start for a soup lunch and traybakes.  Tickets are just £10 including lunch and coffees.  You can spot the hero of the challenge – spoiler alert, he’s not human!  Book with your WI Secretary or use the form HERE (which can be posted or emailed to the office) or online at cwfwi.org.  Please book by Friday 25th September.

Please don’t forget to include an emergency contact number and let us know about any dietary requirements or special needs.
